Opera Ready to Show TV Innovations at CES 2012


As has been shown on Up North Web 2011 conference in Oslo, November ago, a team of Opera does have a focus to developing its ecosystem of browsers ontelevision sets. At that time, Christen Krogh (Opera CTO) demonstrating a number of applications, including those based on HTML5, which can be run on the TV screen during the connection to the internet.

"We changed the TV viewing experience by bringing HTML5 applications into TV sets, Blu-Ray devices, and set-top boxes worldwide. And that's only part of ourshow, "said Tatsuki Tomita (Senior Vice President, Opera Software) in his press statement.

Besides TV applications, O also improves Opera Devices SDK for developers.One of its features are the Streaming Media Option with adaptive streamingsolutions.

This feature is useful to ensure the streaming video content can be adapted to thebandwidth and local resources available so as to provide an optimal viewing experience. This streaming media options supporting Apple HLS, Microsoft SmoothStreaming, and MPEG DASH.

Opera Devices SDK also supports DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance), platformsharing across multimedia devices in the home. At the Opera SDK with DLNAoption, you can find a DLNA-certified devices and stream them.
